Lynn Canyon

Got in there at about ten o clock. It was a very nice day. Clear sky. Perfect day for a hike. We headed straight down the stairs. At the first bridge the water was so clear and the sun was so nice that it seemed like the water was glowing. It was a very nice turquoise, green-blue color very splendid but we had to get going as it was just the start of the hike.

Could also see the falls in the distance at some points but headed down to meet up with good ol' Baden Powell Trail. Took it all the way across to a very nice lookout point. On the way there were old growth trees with huge amounts of moss build ups. I was urged to go to the Cemetery but we thought we had gone too far as we entered a whole new valley. There was a hilarious huge blue sign with a small felt diagram using 1/50th of the huge signs space. Very informative although it would have been nice to know the km's to the cemetery so we could push the boundaries a little further. But we had gone far enough headed back to the main road past the dam on to the famous Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge.

Well it was getting on to 1:30-2 and everyone and their dogs was on the bridge. At one point I saw a father carrying a baby way up without any attachment crossing the bridge that was absolutely full of people, wobbling pretty good, and way over capacity. I had Micheal Jackson flashbacks of him holding his baby over the balcony for the press to take pictures of. I think this stunt was even more dangerous. Brings to mind an incident of when I was younger, news of a well-to-do (apparently) lady who had a handicap infant, she pretended to trip and fall and sent the baby over the rail. As it turned out they had security cameras up there, caught the whole thing on tape, and luck would have it, the baby landed in a tree and wasn't even scratched. Anyways I hustled across barely caught a glimpse at the twin falls and bounced out of there avoiding the onrush of bridge crossers.
