Deeks Bluffs

Located right on the water right before Lions Bay. These hikes next to the water are better to take in the winter months as it is usually warmer by the ocean. There was still some snow at the top but it was fairly good conditions most of the way. A great hike to do even in the winter months. Took us awhile to find the trail and was amazed we found it to start off but it was the lesser known trail. We just headed up Deeks Creek and then ran into the trail a little ways up. Up the road further was the main path we found out later on the way down. We went up the right side pretty steep and dangerous in parts. We had to do some serious rock climbing then came down the left where there is a cool rope where you can hang on to down a dangerous section. There is a lake to go to, Deeks Lake, another good hike for another day but we headed for the bluffs. We got out to a few bluffs. One really nice one was fairly close to the highway and a great stop if you need a little break from the road. One was farther up and had to get through some snow to get to it. It was worth it though. The sight was fantastic overlooking the ocean, sun was perfect and I swear I saw Vancouver Island. The other bluffs are farther up but it just got snowier so we decided we had more than our share of stunning views and called it a day.
