Lighthouse Park
Take a left right before Horse Shoe Bay and you are there. I was excited to get out on my first hike of the year. Last one I did was Volcano Tungurahua in Ecuador over a month ago. 5.5 km up and one of the 500 natures must see things. No big deal. lol. But seriously Lighthouse Park and all these trails are just as nice though. The forests in this coastal region around Vancouver is just crazy. I don't think trees grow this good anywhere else. The humidity just makes everything green and grow like stink. It is cool to see everything green even the bark deep inside an old growth forest. This is what I felt at Lighthouse park in January. No snow at all on this hike in the thick of winter. We headed around the whole coast of the park. Many nice lookouts of the ocean and of course the lighthouse. Did not get to see the lighthouse up close or go inside it though. I was a little bummed but got over it and enjoyed the view anyway. Ended up taking about three hours. A splendid way to enjoy an afternoon.
