Baden Powell Trail

Named after the starter of scouts program, from Ireland, Lord Baden-Powell. What a guy he must have been. Responsible for every young boys upbringing. Not I though. I was brought up in the wild lower mainland. The sasquash can be the only man/beast credited for my upbringing. Anyways back to the trail. It is in North Vancouver, Mount Fromme. Pretty giant trail. We started at the top of Georges Street. Guy with a sweet house at the top of the street. Living on his/her perch looking down at the city. It is always the really nice houses at the very top. In the prime chunks of land. Then we headed up and up and up. Sweet burnt out tree and nice inside the deep forest but still had layer of snow which made us cut short the hike a wee. We made it up to the old road and then decided that the snow was getting too much to go an extra bit to a look out point and some chair lifts. We booked it going back running down the steep snow beaten trail pretty crazily. Lucky we didn't slip in a few nasty places. Don't try this at home kids. Ned said he took his bike up the trail which is wild! He said he met a old man on the trail that said he's been hiking that trail for 20 years and he has never seen anyone on their bike. It is pretty steep,rooty/rocky and snowy of course at this time of year. It was a little to early to do this hike but still had a good time.
